Apostacitis
by Rufus T. Firefly inapostacitis is a term denoting a condition with which the watchtower society has become thoroughly infected, particularly since the year 1981 when sincere christians who merely resigned from the organization over principled differences in belief became viewed the same as unrepentant wrongdoers (1 cor.
5:11) and as those rejecting the good news about the christ (2 john 9-11).
there was a time when news of one becoming an apostate was so rare among witnesses that it sent shockwaves throughout the organization.

New light Watchtower magazine leaked from organization weeks ahead of general release
by cedars inhttp://jwsurvey.org/governing-body-2/new-light-watchtower-magazine-leaked-from-organization-weeks-ahead-of-general-release.
if doctrinal explanations are missing from the article, it is because they are also missing from the magazine.. i would like to give my thanks again to my source for supplying me with the magazine article weeks ahead of its scheduled release.
it showed remarkable courage, because risks were taken.

Data-Dog - thanks for the link to the proclaimers book analysis, I've been reading it tonight instead of at the meeting. Which just happens to be the CO visit! Handy headache eh?
And thanks Cedars, there's a LOT of work gone into all of this, and it's gonna take me a long time to get it into my thick head.
But I'll try.

How should I respond to JW relative?
by Resistance is Futile inso i've been talking to one of my jw relatives lately, she's a young adult, born-in.
i've never openly said i don't believe in the governing body, and i've been asking her questions in order to get her thinking.
so i asked her if she believed watchtower publications were inspired and equivalent to the bible.

Hey, I just realised one of the things you were offering is the Pastor Russell anthology, which includes the photodrama of creation, the finished mystery, divine plan etc...
I could definitely get away with receiving that through the mail! (no worries if you don't want to faff about splitting it , it'd be easier sending the whole lot to one person...)

mailing will be fine Mouthy, you just need a more suitable candidate to send them to. If it was just a blank cover on the CD I'd prolly get away with it, but I can't risk it just yet..
Someone on here will have it I'm sure.. Thanks anyway Mouthy.
(On an unrelated point, I found a torrent online containing ALL the watchtowers 1879-1949. Halfway through d/l now!)

Fish in the sand and dove leaving the WT
by dissonance_resolved inso i've been pondering that there must be quite a few active jws out there who are conscious/awakened/lurking, but it's so risky to ask questions to find out they are.
i'm sure this isn't anywhere in the watchtower, but i've read that early christians had the secret symbol of the fish to help identify friends, i.e.
drawing a fish in the sand would secretly identify someone as being a christian.

Brilliant.
Except if I attempted it, it'd probably look like a vicar on a flying bicycle.
I'm not a good drawer. Questions would be asked.

Thanks for all the replies folks, im just kinda reeling not feeling right now, treading lightly but itching to jump up and down and talk if not shout about it! Especially to my better half. (Yes, ive had secrets from her before but only on a 'secret stash of chocolate in the garage ' scale, not a 'life-altering, change everything cos nothing will be the same ever again')
Walls will be punched. Sorry walls.
